In March we're excited to invite you to An Audience with Richard Cockerill, Head Coach of Edinburgh Rugby.

Richard was appointed Head Coach of Edinburgh ahead of the 2017/18 season. The three-time English Premiership winning coach signed an initial two-year deal which was then extended to 2021 following a successful first season in charge.

We are delighted this event has the support of IT Centric, one of Edinburgh’s leading managed IT service providers. As well as being dedicated rugby fans, IT Centric are firm believers in supporting the game, having been involved with the Currie Chieftains youth programme for many years. The IT Centric team look forward to bringing this event to Chamber members.

At this event, Richard will share how he plans to improve the culture of the club, with the aim of improving results and making Edinburgh Rugby more competitive and consistent. As well as an update from Richard, attendees will enjoy breakfast, refreshments, and an opportunity to network with other businesses within Edinburgh, at the home of Scottish Rugby, Murrayfield.

After two spells playing for Leicester Tigers and two years at Montferrand, Cockerill spent 12 years in coaching roles at Tigers, rising through the ranks to become Head Coach in 2009 and then Director of Rugby. He led the team to Premiership semi-finals every season he was in charge and won back to back titles in 2009, 2010 and a subsequent title in 2013. He also took Tigers to the Heineken Cup Final in Edinburgh in 2009 and won the LV Cup in 2012. Following his time in Leicester, Cockerill enjoyed a short spell as Interim Head Coach of French side Toulon, whom he led to the TOP14 Final in 2018.
In his first year in the Scottish capital, Cockerill took Edinburgh to the Guinness PRO14 Final Series for the first time in the club’s history and qualified for the 2018/19 Heineken Champions Cup.
Cockerill earned 27 England caps in a distinguished playing career.
