Former Chairman and corporate law specialist Jack Robertson officially retires following a career spanning five decades at leading law firm Thorntons.

Jack, who stepped down from the role of Chairman in November last year, was awarded a prestigious Outstanding Contribution award at The Courier Business Awards 2016. He continued as a partner and although June 2017 marks his retirement, he will continue as a part-time consultant.

His strong influence has not only been felt by Thorntons but in the business community where he has delivered legal advice to many companies in the Tayside area and beyond. Throughout his career, Jack has supported, mentored and helped shape businesses which had their beginnings locally and grew to become national and international successes.

By continuing as a consultant, this will mean his influence and experience will continue to be a valuable resource to the business and his clients.

Jack’s last day at Thorntons also coincides with the retirement of his loyal secretary of 46 years, Kathleen McClulloch.

Jack said: “I’ve enjoyed my time working at Thorntons and I will miss my colleagues and clients, with whom I have built lasting relationships over my 45 years.

“It certainly doesn’t feel like five decades but the service for my clients has always been my priority and I know that I leave them in very capable and trusted hands.”
