Barbara Cassani: On leadership

On 7 December Barbara Cassani – the woman behind British Airway’s budget airline success, Go Airlines, and founding chairman of London’s successful bid for the 2012 Olympics – will  reflect on leadership and its role in business.

Held at the University of Edinburgh Business School, this talk is free to attend and will take place on 7 December, from 17.30 – 19.15pm.

Joris Luyendijk & Kweku Adoboli: The highs and lows of making, and losing, money in the City

On 8 December Joris Luyendijk and Kweku Adoboli will tell us about the highs and lows of making, and losing money in the City. Anthropologist and journalist Luyendijk, who’s dedicated his recent work to understanding what really goes on in the city, discusses its complex and opaque mechanisms with Adoboli, one of the few bankers in Britain, convicted of fraud.

His account of how the process unfolded, and how responsibility was apportioned, reveals how much ground there is still to cover to hold global financial systems accountable.

This talk will be chaired by Douglas Fraser, BBC Scotland Business and Economics Editor, and will take place in the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Free to attend, the talk takes place at 18.30 – 20.15.
