Posted: 7th March 2019

Law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has recruited a new Managing Associate, Lisa Dromgoole, to join its Construction team in Edinburgh.

Lisa joins from Morton Fraser LLP and specialises in construction law and disputes resolution including adjudication, commercial disputes, arbitration, mediation, real estate related litigation. In her previous roles, she had responsibility for all contentious construction work, including adjudications, arbitrations, Sheriff Court and Court of Session proceedings as well as providing tactical advice on the resolution of disputes.

Lisa has been widely recognised for the quality of her work and has been highlighted in Legal 500 for being ‘good at case management and presenting sound advice in a timely manner’ and Chambers and Partners also recognised her as a ‘Notable Practitioner’ and an ‘Associate to Watch’.

John Ralph, Head of WBD’s Edinburgh office, commented: “We are delighted to have Lisa on board with us. Our presence in Edinburgh is growing rapidly with the office being opened in the same year as our combination with the US in November 2017. She will make a great addition to the team, bringing a wealth of expertise and experience to our real estate sector clients in Scotland, the UK and beyond.”

Lisa Dromgoole added: “It is a pleasure to be joining Womble Bond Dickinson. The firm is clearly committed to growth and I look forward to working with the fast growing team here in Edinburgh and across the UK. The WBD construction team has strong credentials across its eleven key sectors with a fantastic real estate client portfolio. “

WBD recently hired Jonny Williams, Partner and Head of Financial Services, who will be based across its Edinburgh and London offices. The firm’s construction team handles a range of non-contentious matters in connection with energy developments and investment and funding transactions, and has acted for insurers and major contractors in ‘substantial construction-related disputes’ as highlighted in Legal 500. WBD’s real estate offering is ranked as Band 1 firm for National Leaders (Outside London) in Chambers and Partners.
