Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce is committed to the Scottish Government’s Fair Work First policy. We strive to be an organisation where employees are engaged in what we do, supported through training and development opportunities, and we promote positive approaches to make Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce a flexible and dynamic place to work.
Security
We offer meaningful work that provides a reliable income, and we are accredited as a Real Living Wage employer, with the bottom of our pay scale reflecting the Real Living Wage. We do not use or issue zero-hour contracts and we oppose the use of fire and re-hire practices.
Opportunity
We run a fair and transparent recruitment process and are fully committed to an inclusive culture that welcomes all people for who they are.
We continue to invest in training for all staff, focusing on organisational priorities and individual personal development. We support our workforce to work flexibly at the time and in the location that best meets the needs of the organisation, the job, the employee, and the team. We embrace flexibility where possible with hybrid working and continually review working patterns for new and existing employees. Our flexible and family-friendly working practices are available to employees in line with statutory requirements. In practice, all requests are considered on the merits of the request and business needs, and flexible working requests are agreed unless there is a business reason not to.
Effective Voice
We believe in empowering employees’ voices and have established this through many avenues of engagement, including all-staff meetings with our CEO, managers hosting regular one-to-ones with staff, annual appraisals, and the facilitation of a staff forum where issues can be raised and shared with management.
