Edinburgh business woman celebrating her 15th year in luxury holiday let business is encouraging others to go green

Posted: 12th April 2022

Anna Morris, an Edinburgh business woman is this year celebrating 15 years of leading the way with the city’s top holiday homes, and now she’s encouraging others in the industry to go green.

With 77 exclusive properties available to rent through The Edinburgh Address, founders Anna Morris and Anne Marie McEwen, and their small team have carefully hand-picked each and every home to feature in the portfolio over the last 15 years.

Environmentally-friendly travel has become more and more important to holidaymakers over the last few years. According to Booking.com, a massive 87% of travelers say that booking sustainable accommodation is important to them.

Not only did Anna establish The Edinburgh Address 15 years ago, but she and her team also launched Adore Scotland in 2020, offering some of the finest holiday accommodation all over the country. In 2015, Anna was part of a collective of women in Scotland who created Women in Tourism, with the aim to “inspire, motivate, encourage and support women across the sector; while advocating for greater gender balance across leadership roles within the industry.”

This year, The Edinburgh Address and Adore Scotland joined the Green Tourism Award, with Anna and her team committing to an environmentally sustainable future for their business. Whilst working towards achieving an award for Adore Scotland, Anna wants to encourage the individuals who own the homes marketed by The Edinburgh Address and Adore Scotland to apply for their Green Tourism Award and hopes to tell others how to :

“We want to help our property owners, property managers, and business partners to achieve their Green Tourism Award. In 2022, it’s more important than ever to be following the most sustainable business practices, to protect our world for future generations. There are so many ways to become a more sustainable holiday let business – from changes as simple as using LED light bulbs, to bigger commitments, such as environmentally friendly heating and fuel systems.

“It can seem daunting at first but every little thing we do counts. Self-catering is ideally placed as a sustainable accommodation option and we are excited to be part of the Green Tourism initiative and working towards Adore Scotland becoming one of the first holiday let agents of its kind in Scotland. Our team has already had climate change training and we aim to learn as much as we can about creating greener holiday accommodation with the hope that we can inform and assist others.”
