Edinburgh Airport comments on Let’s Go Further consultation
Edinburgh Airport has today thanked the thousands of people who have so far responded to the Let’s Go Further airspace change programme consultation – and called on everyone to have their say.
The consultation is seeking views on the potential impact of altering the flight paths above Edinburgh and the surrounding areas to allow for maximum operational benefits whilst minimising the impact on local communities.
This 14 week consultation was launched on Monday 6th June and the results will inform the development of viable flight path options which the airport will consult on later in the year.
Commenting, Edinburgh Airport’s Chief Executive Gordon Dewar, said:
“I am delighted to report that the consultation process is going well and we are encouraged by the quantity and quality of the responses to date.
“We want to encourage even more people to respond in order that we can have a clear understanding of the views from all those with an interest in this issue.
“It is vital that as Scotland’s leading airport we offer both those directly impacted by any potential changes and those beyond the Edinburgh and surrounding area who have an interest the opportunity to have their say in how we update and modernise to allow us to keep delivering the best possible international connectivity for the country.
“If you haven’t already responded please go to www.letsgofurther.com to find out how you can get involved.
“We are absolutely committed to delivering a robust consultation process and have invited community councils to work with us to ensure that our consultation methods enable local people to participate. To give stakeholders even greater confidence we have commissioned the Consultation Institute to conduct a Quality Assurance of our consultation process.”
