Dunfermline MSP helps eCom Scotland Celebrate 20 Years of Innovation

eCom Scotland was pleased to welcome Shirley-Anne Somerville, MSP for Dunfermline, to its Fife offices today. Ms Somerville’s visit coincided with eCom’s 20th birthday celebrations. eCom Scotland provides innovative technology solutions for workforce learning and development. They work with organisations in many sectors, including Further Education, to develop a skills ready workforce. eCom have achieved substantial growth in the last 3 years through a series of product launches and expansion into new markets. During her visit, Ms Somerville who is also Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science, learnt about the award-winning work with RNIB on accessible eLearning, the skills management system developed for Scottish Water and eCom’s international work with Georgia Southern University USA, on a competency-based learning and accreditation programme for teacher training.

Shirley-Anne Somerville said “eCom Scotland’s growth in the digital learning space is a real Scottish success story. Their innovative solutions are helping organisations to develop the workforce skills needed to make Scotland economically successful. As a female-led business they are also a great role-model for women considering a career in technology. Wendy Edie, eCom Scotland’s Managing Director said “As we celebrate our 20th birthday we reflect on the importance of our long-standing client relationships and how working in partnership solves learning and assessment challenges. We continue our strong focus on R&D and investment in our people, which keeps us at the forefront of learning technologies. I’m looking forward to our next stage of growth and creating more digital jobs in Scotland.
