DM Hall appoints industry veteran, Ronnie Colman as a Consultant in its Property Services division

Posted: 5th February 2019

DM Hall, one of Scotland’s leading independent firms of chartered surveyors, has appointed Ronnie Colman as a Property Services consultant based in the firm’s Dunfermline office.

A practicing architect for 15 years, Ronnie brings significant experience and wide-ranging contacts throughout Scotland’s legal profession to his new role. He worked previously for First Scottish, the legal search, and property service operator which was sold last year to US information services conglomerate Eli Global.

He said: “In addition to dealing with the entire range of legal property enquiries, my new role at DM Hall includes working with my colleagues Mark O’Neil on Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and Alan Jeffrey, here in the Dunfermline office, on all types of Architectural, Planning and Building Regulation matters. I am looking forward greatly to the challenge.”

The firm’s Dunfermline-based Legal Searches and Property Services operation helps its clients at every stage of a property transaction to identify any legal, building control, planning or environmental issues which might have a bearing on securing legal title.

DM Hall partner, Amanda Cameron, who is Head of the firm’s Property Services arm, said: “as the country’s sole Chartered Surveyor practice which is also the only Scottish-owned property search business dedicated to identifying and reporting on both commercial and residential property in Scotland, we welcome Ronnie to the team.

“We look forward greatly to his contribution in assisting our clients with high quality guidance, backed by lengthy expertise and experience”, she said.

Eric Curran, DM Hall’s managing partner, said: “As Scotland’s largest native-owned one-stop legal search, Home Report, environmental report and property services operator, we are delighted to welcome Ronnie to the team.

“We believe that as chartered surveyors we have a significant opportunity to expand and develop this side of our business based on a breadth of lengthy and varied experience which we believe our competitors are unable to match.”
