Delivering net zero: Helping our customers decarbonise Scotland’s infrastructure
The Scottish Government’s Programme for Government 2019-20, Protecting Scotland’s Future places tackling climate change at the heart of its agenda. Achieving net zero will require all sectors to make significant changes. This includes the decarbonisation of our infrastructure – both during construction, but also over the whole of its lifespan and beyond. Balfour Beatty has a proud track record and extensive experience in this area across a wide range of sectors. Our latest paper ‘Delivering net zero‘ outlines how we are working with customers to develop a cradle-to-cradle view of the assets they commission. This includes encouraging them to play in contractors at the earliest possible opportunity to allow us to advise on the best design, materials, techniques and solutions, to ensure the lowest possible overall carbon footprint of the asset within the parameters the customer sets.
