Dales Marine Services are a well-established and successful local and national Ship Repair, Fabrication and Engineering service provider for the off and on shore oil industry.

Due to continued growth, expansion, and long-term contracts we are looking to add to our skilled team of employees.

Requirement

The Lead QHSE Advisor is responsible for providing support, assistance and advise to the business and its associated activities on risk management, health, safety and environmental matters.  The implementation of all QHSE policies and practices for all works carried out by the company either on-site or at off-site locations.

They will report directly to the QHSE Manager and provide advice on the inclusion and implementation of the QHSE policies, procedures and practices with respect to tendered or contracted work packages.

They should have a sound knowledge and experience in a marine/fabrication position. They will require a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety certificate and a Lead Auditor qualification either 9,001 or 14,001 and 45,001.

The Lead QHSE Advisor will work closely with the QHSE Advisors providing assistance and guidance support on the QHSE Department day-to-day activities.

They will regularly visit all sites to ensure systems are being implemented and procedures followed.

The Lead QHSE Advisor can meet with or contact clients, to establish their requirements from the company QHSE Department prior to or during a docking or work project. They will then assist with any requirements the client may have on-site and discuss the Dales Marine QHSE requirements to ensure all work and projects are carried out to the mutual advantage of the company, employees, and the clients.

They will provide support to the QHSE Manager in relation to the implementation of the quality systems and Company Policies and Procedures and ensure that once implemented safety and environmental standards are maintained, working safely at all times to ensure the health and wellbeing of themselves and company workers.

Tasks they would be responsible for in their role of Lead QHSE Advisor will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Developing, promoting and maintaining a positive company safety culture.
  • Overseeing the Company QHSE Advisors across all DMS sites.
  • Coach and mentor the QHSE Advisors in the QHSE requirements.
  • Travel to all DMS sites monthly.
  • Develop strong working relationship with local port authority QHSE management.
  • Assist the QHSE Manager in the creation and management of the annual department improvement plan.
  • Manage and lead all QHSE investigations.
  • Close out all incident reports and investigations for the QHSE Manager review.
  • Close out Non-Conformance Reports and Process improvement reports and investigations for the QHSE Manager review.
  • Provide the QHSE Manager with Lessons Learned from investigations to ensure that key findings are communicated across all sites.
  • Lead or assist in all internal and external audits.
  • Chairing regular site safety committee meetings.
  • Participate in monthly QHSE District meetings.
  • Implementing monthly notice board safety initiatives.
  • Carry out recorded monthly QHSE inspections.
  • Provide QHSE input into pre-qualifying questionnaires and tendering services
  • Provide statistical analyses of QHSE performance data for monthly business report.
  • Assist in the management of Company’s Safety Culture platform.
  • Assist in the management of Company observation card system.
  • Liaise with other QHSE Teams to review open QHSE actions and assist in their timely closure.
  • Review and Manage the Company’s emergency response drills.
  • Develop communications with local fire services to arrange site visits and drills.
  • Support the promotion of Safety Initiatives and campaigns to enhance the Company Safety culture.
  • Deputise for the QHSE Manager when required.
  • Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by the QHSE Manager to meet business requirements.
