Cruden Group supports drive to end homelessness with donation to Crisis

Posted: 18th December 2019

The Cruden Group, one of Scotland’s largest development and construction companies, has donated £1000 to Crisis in Scotland this Christmas. This latest donation demonstrates the Group’s continued recognition of organisations that play a key role in tackling homelessness, with Cruden having previously supported Social Bite and Shelter Scotland.

The Group decided to make their Christmas donation to support Crisis’s ‘Reserve a place’ appeal. The donation will help approximately 35 people to access a Crisis Christmas centre, where they will receive a warm welcome, hot food and company over the festive period. In addition, they will also be able to gain vital access to housing advice, counselling and support with health and wellbeing, benefits and employment.

Kevin Reid, Chief Executive for Cruden Group said: “This Christmas we decided to donate to Crisis so that homeless people in Scotland can get the crucial support they need. We know first-hand the positive impact having access to quality housing can have on people’s lives and on communities as a whole. The Cruden Group is proud to support charities that strive to end homelessness and, in line with Scottish Housing Day’s 2019 theme, we firmly believe that housing is a basic human right for everyone.”

Julie Sutton, Fundraising Manager in Scotland for Crisis said: “Everyone should have a safe place to call home. However, almost 30,000 households across Scotland are experiencing or at immediate risk of homelessness. We’d like to offer a huge thanks to Cruden for choosing to support Crisis this Christmas, their donation will help people access the support they need to escape homelessness.”
