Clyde & Co Scotland employees raise thousands for children’s charity
- Forty employees pledge to exercise 5k per day throughout October to support Cash for Kids
Edinburgh, 30 October 2020: The Scottish team at global law firm Clyde & Co has raised over £8,000 for local charity Cash for Kids as part of Radio Forth’s 5k-a-day challenge.
Ongoing throughout October, the Boogie 5k-a-day Challenge encouraged participants to run, walk or cycle 5 kilometres per day for the entire month, while raising sponsorship funds from family, friends and colleagues.
Clyde & Co’s Scottish offices have demonstrated much enthusiasm for the challenge, with over 40 employees signing up for the challenge, collectively raising almost £5,000 by the final week of the challenge. The firm has also contributed an additional £3,000 in addition to employee sponsorship totals.
Vikki Melville, Managing Partner for Clyde & Co Scotland, said: “It’s fantastic to see so much enthusiasm and participation from the Clyde & Co Scotland teams. Although most of us are still working from home, this challenge has enabled many of us to keep in touch outside of work, sharing our exercising adventures, our fundraising efforts, and keeping each other motivated throughout the month whilst all the time raising money for a brilliant local charity. We’ve now raised more than £8,000 for Cash4Kids, and have smashed all our initial targets beyond what we could have hoped.”
With four days to go until the end of the challenge, Radio Forth announced that they have raised over £178,000 and hope to reach £200,000 by the end of the month.
Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping the UK’s children and young people who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect. The charity raised over £20.9 million in 2019, supporting more than 1 million children.
