Christmas tickets have come early at LNER
As of yesterday, tickets for LNER services through to early January are now available. This is based on a trial of new technology allowing us to offer and manage bookings over 20 weeks in advance.
While 20-weeks in advance won’t always be possible, our new approach means we can improve on the industry goal of 12 weeks. It also contrasts with the unavoidable short booking horizons seen during some of the lockdowns.
If it proves effective, it is hoped that this approach will allow more tickets to go on sale much sooner to allow customers to plan ahead and secure the best fares. It also means we can better compete with air and car, encouraging people to travel in a much more environmentally sustainable way.
