Caledonian Sleeper offers free seats to stranded Flybe passengers

Posted: 5th March 2020

Overnight rail service Caledonian Sleeper is offering free travel for the next week to people stranded across the UK as a result of Flybe entering administration.

Passengers with a valid Flybe booking will be able to book a seat on any Caledonian Sleeper route between London and Scotland, from tonight (5 March) through to next Thursday (12 March).

In addition, Caledonian Sleeper will extend the same support to any Flybe crew members who can present a valid Flybe ID.

Flybe passengers and crew wishing to travel on Caledonian Sleeper should phone the Guest Service Centre on 0330 060 0500 to confirm availability. Due to the expected number of incoming calls, there may be a short delay before your call is answered.

Ryan Flaherty, Serco’s Managing Director for Caledonian Sleeper, said: “The news about Flybe entering administration is extremely sad and we’re aware that many passengers and crew will be struggling to get home.

“Anyone affected who is looking to travel with us in the next week should phone our Guest Service Centre in the first instance, where one of our team can advise on availability in our Seated Coach and confirm your booking. We’d ask that people don’t arrive at the station without contacting our Guest Service Centre first as we can’t guarantee there will be space on a specific service.”

Caledonian Sleeper operates two routes between London and Scotland. The Lowlander route runs between Glasgow / Edinburgh and London, while the Highlander route takes guests between Aberdeen / Fort William / Inverness and London.

In addition to Seated accommodation, Caledonian Sleeper also offers a range of rooms – with limited availability over the next few days.

Any Flybe passengers or crew travelling over the next week will be able to upgrade to a room by paying the room supplement.
