Busy Start to the Year at Dales Marine Services

Posted: 27th February 2025

After Docking 106 Ships in 2024, it has been another extremely busy start to the year for Dales Marine across our four main locations in Aberdeen, Leith, Greenock & Troon, with an exciting project supporting a vessel conversion to Hydrogen power.

The team in Leith have been tackling mobilisations, maintenance & upgrades to 9 vessels — from pipework to galley refits and room conversions. Imperial Dry Dock has seen back-to-back double dockings, with major refurbishments on tail shafts, rudders & thrusters, plus hull cleaning & painting. Alongside space has also been busy, with a survey vessel undergoing engine works and structural repairs on a Tug.

In Aberdeen, in addition to supporting vessels around the Port with mobilisations and maintenance the company have welcomed 2 passenger ferries, and 2 Platform Supply Vessels into Dry Dock as well as having a full order book for the Fabrication yard supporting Subsea, Drilling & Offshore wind projects.

This is the busiest time of year on the West coast and Greenock have had back-to-back double dockings of Passenger Ferries since the start of the year as well as full alongside berthage. It is also supporting an interesting project converting a ship to be able to run from Hydrogen Fuel Cells highlighting Dales Marine’s commitment to supporting the Marine industry on its path to Carbon Neutrality.

Troon has also been busy Docking 4 different Passenger Ferries already.
