Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon is pleased to announce the appointment of 13 new partners and 19 new directors, a record number for the firm, across key sectors including Energy & Utilities, Built Environment, Financial Services, Infrastructure, Private Wealth, and Public Sector. This milestone underscores Burges Salmon’s ongoing commitment to investing in its key sectors and highlights the firm’s ambitious strategy for future growth and success.

The appointments, which are effective from 1 May 2025, reflect Burges Salmon’s dedication to retaining and developing exceptional talent, demonstrating the successful career paths the firm has in place for ambitious lawyers to progress.

Edinburgh-based Claire Logue, from the firm’s Construction and Engineering team, is amongst the new partner cohort. She specialises in contract delivery, strategic troubleshooting, and dispute resolution for those operating in the construction and engineering sector. She is dual qualified in England & Wales and Scotland, and has particular experience representing clients in technically complex, high-value matters, especially within the Scottish market.

Burges Salmon’s Managing Partner, Roger Bull, says: “There’s no better endorsement of the ongoing success of our people-first strategy and dedication to delivering an excellent service to our clients than being able to announce a record number of 13 new partners this year.

“These latest appointments demonstrate our commitment to continue advising clients across a range of strategically important practices and sectors. All 13 of these new partners are exceptional lawyers who will have a vital role to play in nurturing the firm’s client relationships and enhancing our unique culture in the years ahead.”

The director promotions in Edinburgh include:
