BTO reappointed to NFU mutual’s legal panel

Posted: 23rd October 2018

Leading independent Scottish law firm BTO Solicitors LLP has been reappointed to NFU Mutual’s revised legal panel following an extensive competitive tender process.

BTO is one of four firms to have secured a place on the panel which previously comprised seven legal firms. The win closely follows BTO’s successful reappointment to RSA’s legal panel earlier in 2018.

NFU Mutual has created a single panel across all the jurisdictions in which it operates and its Scottish panel will comprise one other legal firm in addition to BTO. The appointment to provide NFU Mutual with legal services and support across the full range of its general insurance claims operations has been awarded for an initial period of three years and the new contract will take effect from 1 January 2019.

Jon Cawley, head of claims at NFU Mutual, commented: “The consolidated panel provides for future relationships of greater depth and importance that will help us deliver our strategy of managing claims litigation proactively and effectively whilst continuing to support the future needs of our customers.”

BTO’s team for NFU Mutual is led by partner and solicitor advocate Mark Morton who said: “BTO has worked closely with NFU Mutual for over thirty years and we are very proud to be in a position to strengthen our relationship further. This achievement has been possible thanks to the quality of our work and the dedication of our people. BTO is seen as providing a first class service in the insurance sector and we will continue to provide that level of service to NFU Mutual.”

The other three firms on the panel are DAC Beachcroft LLP, DWF LLP and John McKee and Son Solicitors.
