Bridge of Lies crosses Down Under as Seven Network picks up rights to air hit BBC quiz show in Australia

Posted: 23rd October 2025

Hit BBC quiz show, Bridge of Lies, has found a new audience Down Under following a deal to bring the much-loved series to Australia’s most-watched video network.

The Seven Network has already started airing episodes of the UK show, produced by STV Studios in Glasgow, as part of its weekday afternoon quiz strand, Winning Arvo. Episodes are also available on the network’s streaming platform, 7plus, Australia’s fastest growing commercial free streaming platform.

In a deal brokered by BBC Studios, which alongside STV Studios distributes the series and format globally, Seven will air all four series of Bridge of Lies and all three series of its sister show, Celebrity Bridge of Lies.

Launched in 2022 and hosted by British TV icon, Ross Kemp, Bridge of Lies sees teams of contestants competing for cash by crossing a bridge made up of stepping stones across the studio floor. Each stepping stone has a different option, and the players must try to get from A to B by stepping on the truths and avoiding the lies, or risk falling off the bridge and out of the game.

The Australian deal is the latest in a series of international sales for STV Studios’ nail-biting original format. The UK version currently airs on RTÉ in Ireland and on BBC Nordic and BBC Africa, with local versions airing in recent years on Game Show Network in the United States (Beat the Bridge) and La 1 in Spain (El puente de las mentiras).

The UK version of the show was recently recommissioned by the BBC, with 25 new episodes of Bridge of Lies (series five) and 10 new episodes of Celebrity Bridge of Lies (series four) set to air on BBC One and iPlayer in 2026.

The Bridge of Lies series and format are distributed by BBC Studios and STV Studios.

David Mortimer, CEO of STV Studios, said: “Hot off the heels of our bumper recommission from the BBC, this significant deal with Seven shows that all the unique ingredients that have made Bridge of Lies a firm favourite of UK viewers successfully translate to international audiences too.

“The launch of Bridge of Lies in Australia is just the latest step in the format’s burgeoning global journey, and I couldn’t be prouder that millions of Aussies are going to be spending their afternoons with the incomparable Ross Kemp and our fantastic contestants.”
