Blackadders looks to future growth with staff promotions

National Law firm Blackadders has announced a number of promotions as the business looks to support future growth across its offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth.

Ellen Eunson and Stuart King have been assumed as Partners in the firm, whilst Claire Newton has been promoted to the role of Director of Executry Services. Ruth Weir and John Dargie have been promoted to Associate and Senior Solicitor respectively.

Brian Main in the property services estate agency team has been promoted to Associate Director.

Ellen said: “I’m excited to be part of Blackadders’ long-term future and look forward to supporting the business achieve further success in the years ahead.”

Ellen takes up her position in the Aberdeen office’s Rural Land & Business team. She joined the firm in June 2014 and is experienced in rural property work, including farm and estate sales and purchases, agricultural leasing, bank finance work, and servitudes and burdens.  She can also advise on renewables projects, shooting and fishing, partnership and succession matters.

With extensive experience across all aspects of commercial and residential property, including investment acquisitions and disposals, and landlord and tenant work, Stuart has advised on the Scottish aspects of cross-border portfolio projects. Based in Dundee, he has wide experience in property finance matters, acting for lenders and institutional investors in secured lending transactions. Stuart has worked as a tutor on the undergraduate degree and post graduate diploma courses at the Universities of Edinburgh and Dundee.

Managing Partner Johnston Clark said: “We have been on a rolling programme of growth over a number of years and anticipate further progress throughout 2018. Investing in our staff is key in ensuring we continue to deliver the best possible service to clients.

“The promotions strengthen our team and recognises the sustained performance and high level of skills each individual has shown. I congratulate them on their work so far and wish them all well in their new roles.”

Working in the Dundee office’s Private Client Division, Claire joined Blackadders in 2015 and advises clients on aspects including Wills, Powers of Attorney and the administration of Executry estates.

Brian has worked across the Dundee, Angus and Perthshire markets over many years. He heads up the Blackadders Angus property offices and guides clients through the process of bringing their properties to the market.

Blackadders now has 25 partners and more than 220 staff across its offices.
