Applications for up to £10,000 worth of Training with Edinburgh College still open

Posted: 29th March 2018

Businesses across Scotland have until Saturday 30 June to apply for up to £10,000 of training from Edinburgh College.

The Scottish Government and Scottish Funding Council are managing the Flexible Workplace Development Fund (FWDF), in direct response to feedback from the Scottish Government’s consultation on the introduction of the UK Government Apprenticeship Levy.

The Flexible Workplace Development Fund provides eligible employers with up to £10,000 worth of training from their local college, to up-skill and re-skill their existing workforce. It is available to all levy-paying employers in Scotland across the private, public and third sector, and will be led by employer demand.

Employers will be required to submit evidence of their eligibility to pay the levy alongside their application. The fund will not support provision of qualifications/training required by legislation.

Edinburgh College will work with employers to identify training needs that will make a demonstrable return on investment.

Stuart Cronin, business development advisor at Edinburgh College, has more information on the scheme here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNOrZlS17lA
