An invite to: Edible Edinburgh Business Breakfast

Posted: 23rd October 2019
The Edible Edinburgh business breakfast will focus on food sustainability within the city, providing opportunities to work collaboratively.

About this Event

The City of Edinburgh Council has set an ambitious target of becoming carbon neutral by 2030. Food is an important part of achieving this target. By bringing together Edinburgh’s food businesses and providers, this event will focus on the ways in which we can work together to make Edinburgh a truly sustainable food city.

Much has already been achieved in the city. We would like to build on this momentum, opening up discussion on ways to encourage more local production, supply and markets, encourage healthier eating, reduce food waste and food packaging (especially single-use plastic) and examine new and innovative ways to maintain a vibrant and sustainable food system in the city.

This event provides an ideal opportunity for businesses to come together to highlight good practice, discuss ways to work collaboratively on making Edinburgh a truly sustainable food city and to meet with others who share similar aims.

The event will be opened by the Edinburgh’s Lord Provost, Councillor Frank Ross, with speakers planned from Edinburgh’s diverse food sector, including Jon Davies Managing Director of Levy UK.
