Aberdein Considine promotes Dispute Resolution specialist in Edinburgh

Posted: 6th June 2019

Aberdein Considine has moved to strengthen its Dispute Resolution team with the appointment of a new Associate in Edinburgh.

Jennifer Matthew, who has been promoted from senior solicitor to Associate, joined Aberdein Considine’s flagship legal office Edinburgh in April 2018 and has played a key role in the growth of the firm’s commercial litigation business across the Central Belt.

She graduated with an LLB from the University of Dundee in 2010, completing her post graduate diploma in 2013.

Jennifer has worked across a range of areas including residential and commercial real estate, and since 2014 she has specialised in commercial litigation, representing major contractors, building companies, retail clients and insurers.  She has a particular focus on contractual disputes, property litigation and shareholder disputes.

Following a number of acquisitions over the last few years, the firm has been heavily focusing on expanding and strengthening its legal teams and specialisms throughout the country.

Aberdein Considine offers property, legal and financial services to private and commercial clients across Scotland and the north of England.

Euan McSherry, Head of Dispute Resolution at Aberdein Considine said:

“Since joining us in 2018 Jennifer has been a crucial member of the team, working tirelessly to ensure our clients receive the highest quality of support and service.

Jennifer is a tactically strong litigator, with robust advocacy skills, regularly demonstrating a dedication to going above and beyond on behalf of our clients.

Her expertise and commercial acumen have been critical as we continue to grow in this key area, and her promotion is recognition of her value to both clients and the firm.”

Jennifer added: “Joining Aberdein Considine was a great opportunity, and I’m hugely honoured to be appointed to Associate. I’ve learned a huge amount from what is an extremely talented and experienced team, and I’m looking forward to continuing to support our clients, when and where they need us.”
