The Edinburgh Chamber Group of companies includes Edinburgh Business Development (EBD), which is an enterprise trust with clear social aims and responsibilities. Together, we work hard to ensure that Edinburgh is an enterprising city, where business is supported and can thrive.
We also want all of the city's residents to have equal access to employment, self-employment and training opportunities. We have developed a number of creative ways to ensure that marginalised or disadvantaged groups are included in mainstream activities. These include initiatives to support third sector and social enterprise, ethnic minorities, young people, older people, unemployed people, lone parents and people with disabilities.
We work closely with public, private and third sector partners to develop innovative ways to make this happen. Where we find the need for extra support, we will either act as an enabler to help address the need, or will act directly as a service deliverer, where we feel it is appropriate and feasible to do so.
