Remit

1. Identifying key national transport priorities for Edinburgh and its region
2. Influencing decisions on national transport investments that will have a bearing on Edinburgh and its region
3. Influencing transport policy affecting Edinburgh and its region
4. Raising the profile of the Chamber in public debates on national transport issues

Objectives and plan

1. To identify the key national transport objectives and projects that ECC will actively support (both existing identified projects and any identified gaps)
2. To develop and agree an influencing strategy that the ECC should take with regard to 1 above setting economic development as a key and common driver
3. To assist in the delivery of the influencing strategy to key opinion formers and policy setters
4. All the above to include the following non-exhaustive list of key issues/projects:
   • Forth replacement crossing
   • Edinburgh- Glasgow rail
   • High speed rail - UK
   • Edinburgh Airport Development Strategy
