Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce recognises Tourism as a key sector in the City's economy, and its policy group on the issue is one of the longest standing.
The group has recently moved from a web-based discussion group to holding physical meetings. In line with the group's objective to keep members informed on the Edinburgh Tourism scene, initial meetings have enjoyed presentations on VisitScotland and the new Network Office and the Edinburgh Convention Bureau.
The group is beginning to mould policy decisions the first of which was to ask the Chief Executive of the City of Edinburgh Council for a City Marketing Bureau to be established. This is seen as key to providing a single united voice speaking for formulation of promotion of the Edinburgh City Brand.
