Lothian and Borders Police and the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce have joined forces and launched the Business Protection Policy Group. The aim of the group is to share intelligence and offer practical advice to businesses large and small across the City.
The Group is comprised of representatives from a variety of sectors and businesses, with the ultimate aim of improving the collective security of the city and its businesses, reducing crime rates, saving costs and developing the local economy.
Lothian and Borders Police have also allocated Chief Inspector Amanda McGrath of Lothian and Borders Police to a one year secondment to reinforce the mutual understanding between the business community and the police in preventing and tackling issues related to business crime. Chief Inspector McGrath, who will be based at Edinburgh Chamber's Festival Square Head Office, will listen to the issues concerning the business community and create better links for police involvement in advising businesses to minimise crime and risk wherever possible.
