The infrastructure work to build an underpass under the A8 at Gogar Roundabout will commence from Sunday, 24 August 2008. This work will take a year to complete and traffic management will be installed at the roundabout throughout this time.
As part of the work to build the underpass, a retaining wall will be erected on the embankment leading into the underpass on South Gyle Broadway. To accommodate this work, the traffic management currently set up on South Gyle Broadway will remain in place after the utilities have been diverted. Towards the end of August they will carry out some localised investigation sites before building the retaining wall. Work to construct the wall is expected to last for approximately five months.
