City and World

Posted Thursday 9 September 2010 13:00 GMT

Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce has today launched its new Political Economy Bulletin: City & World. This will appear every four months and focuses on how the current political and economic issues affect the City's aspirations in a global economy. A summary newsletter will be sent to members. To read the full Bulletin.

Bill Jamieson, Executive Editor, Scotland on Sunday, quoted on Sunday 12 September 2010:

"An example of the (avoidable) problems small businesses face in Scotland is well set out in a new City & World Bulletin sent out last week by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce (ECC). This well-marshalled document sets out, in a fair and measured manner, the outlook for Scottish business. There are two excellent sections in particular - one on the scope to improve public sector productivity in Scotland and a second on the recent problems with non-domestic (business) rates. This, the ECC believes, "is being badly mishandled by the Scottish Government.""
