Shepherd and Wedderburn to sponsor hotel operating agreements conference

Posted: 23rd March 2017

John MackenzieHotel industry leaders from across the UK will come together in May to enjoy a full programme of presentations and discussions relating to hotel operating and management agreements.

As sponsor of the Henry Stewart Hotel Operating Agreements conference, industry experts from leading UK law firm, Shepherd and Wedderburn, will be on hand to provide practical guidance for hotel owners, operators, managers, investors, lawyers and consultants.

Over the years, Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Hotels and Leisure team has built up a strong reputation in the sector, advising many of the country’s leading hotel investors, developers, financiers and operators on a range of issues, from day-to-day operations to specialist projects.

Among the impressive line-up of speakers is Shepherd and Wedderburn partner and commercial litigation specialist John Mackenzie. He will be joined by a host of industry experts who will cover a range of topics including property values after the referendum; and with a lower pound, the implications of the anticipated increase in inflation; staffing and profit implications of Brexit and increases in the living wage; franchise strategies; and the challenge of Airbnb and HomeAway.

John commented: “At a time when the number of franchises and businesses under independent management is increasing in the hotel industry, hotel operating agreements have a significant impact on the bottom line of a business. We are looking forward to exchanging views and new ideas with many of the sector’s key figures at the upcoming event.”

The event takes place on 17 May at London’s Le Meridien Piccadilly hotel.
