Early Birds Can Peck Up 30% Saving on Musselburgh’s Stylish Ladies Day

Posted: 30th November 2016

The early bird gets the worm but in the case of Musselburgh Racecourse early birds will peck up a 30% saving on next year’s Stobo Castle Ladies Day.

However, the discounted admission price is only available until 11 December and with advance ticket sales for the 17 June event up by more than 15% on last year, racecourse bosses are urging racegoers to book now.

Racegoers and fashion followers who grab their £35 tickets before the deadline will save £15 on the full admission price.

Now in its 13th year, Ladies Day at Musselburgh is so popular that tickets for the 10,000-capacity race day are usually sold out two months before the event.

Musselburgh Racecourse marketing manager, Aisling Johnston, said: “We can’t offer a partridge in a pear tree but for those guys who haven’t got a clue what to get for their loved one at Christmas our Early Bird offer is a cracking festive winner.

“Ladies Day might seem months away and some people always leave booking until the last minute, but general admission sales are 15% up on this time last year, while our Picnic Pavilion tickets are more than 26% ahead for the same period.

“All the signs are that Stobo Castle Ladies Day will be another sell-out affair in 2017 so we would recommend getting in early and before 11 December to enjoy a 30% saving.”

The star prize of the Queen of Style event for the best dressed lady on the day – usually a car or other high value prize – is yet to be confirmed and Musselburgh are working behind the scenes to secure the appearance of a television fashion celebrity to attend.

While style and a party atmosphere are central to the must-attend event in the Scottish social calendar, Ladies Day also hosts one of Scottish racing’s richest races, the £100,000 William Hill Scottish Sprint Cup.
