Travel advice for Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park

Posted: 23rd August 2016

Bellahouston Park plays host to Glasgow Summer Sessions on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 August, and ScotRail is reminding customers travelling to the event by train that services will be busier than normal.

ScotRail will be adding carriages to services between Glasgow Central and Dumbreck – the closest station to Bellahouston Park.

Queuing systems will be in place at Glasgow Central before the concert. Music lovers are also being advised to head back to Dumbreck as fast as possible after the event finishes and join the queues at the station.

To help customers arrive at the concert on time, they should allow extra time for travel – as well as purchasing tickets in advance to avoid additional queuing on the day. Tickets are available from staffed stations, telesales on 0344 811 0141, and via our mobile app or website: www.scotrail.co.uk

On Friday 26 August, customers who travel on our Paisley Canal route are being advised that buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central and Paisley Canal from 10pm until the end of service.

A ScotRail spokesman said: “We’re looking forward to helping fans travel by train to the Summer Sessions this weekend. Our advice to customers is to make sure to check your train times on our website or app and leave plenty of time for travel. Buying tickets in advance will also help reduce your queuing time.

“Regular travellers who use our Paisley Canal line should be aware that services will be much busier than normal with fans heading to the gig.”

As with most special events, ScotRail will have extra staff on the ground to assist customers.
