eCom Scotland, makes key Business Development appointments

Learning technologies provider, eCom Scotland, announces a series of key appointments to strengthen its business development and account management function.

Geoff Chapman has been appointed as VP Business Development, responsible for growing the client base in new and existing sectors. He will report to Linda Steedman, eCom’s Chief Executive Officer.

Geoff is an education technology professional with over 15 years’ experience. He has worked on high-profile international educational technology projects for government bodies, awarding organisations and institutes, and financial companies. A winner of the prestigious eAssessment Scotland award, Geoff has served as Vice-Chairman of the e-Assessment Association. He is a regular speaker at e-Assessment events and shares his insights under the ‘eAssessmentChap‘ Twitter account.

Helen Robertson joins eCom’s Business Development team as External Relations Manager and will be responsible for fostering new relationships across a number of key sectors.

Helen is an External Relations professional, previously holding senior management positions with Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and the independent think tank Reform Scotland, as well as the post of Chief Executive at Fife Chamber of Commerce.  Prior to Dunfermline Building Society being acquired by Nationwide, Helen headed their Public Relations and Public Affairs.

eCom also announces the appointment of Judy Bloxham as Learning Technologies Consultant. Judy is a renowned and respected learning technology expert with over 10 years’ experience in the further education and skills sector, including 5 years at JISC. She has worked on the development of learning for a number of sectors including engineering, construction, and automotive.

Linda Steedman, eCom Scotland’s CEO said “We are delighted to welcome Geoff, Helen and Judy to eCom. They bring with them a wealth of learning technologies knowledge and relationship management experience.  eCom has achieved a 30% year-on-year revenue growth for the last 3 years as well as doubling staff numbers. Our new business development function will help us to accelerate this growth by forging new client partnerships and expansion into new markets.

Commenting on his new role Geoff said “eCom has a great reputation for developing customised solutions for workplace learning.  With their wide range of learning and assessment technologies eCom successfully address many customer learning and development challenges. Helen’s considerable relationship management experience and outstanding communication skills will be invaluable for expanding eCom’s network.  While Judy brings a first-rate understanding of the learning technology issues facing organisations across many industries, which is invaluable as we move into new markets.  I’m looking forward to being part of eCom’s next stage of growth.
