Applications for the Buchanan Business Awards 2016 now open

Following the success of last year’s inaugural competition to celebrate outstanding achievement in Edinburgh’s micro business sector, Capital City Partnership, Business Gateway and Royal Bank of Scotland are once again offering outstanding micro businesses the chance to win an award of up to £3000.

The Buchanan Business Awards were established to celebrate the legacy of the late Councillor Tom Buchanan, who was chair of Capital City Partnership and Convener of City of Edinburgh Council’s Economy Committee. Tom was passionately committed to supporting Edinburgh’s growing micro business sector.

Edinburgh businesses with 1-9 employees may apply to be recognized as Growth Business of the Year, Start Up Business of the Year, Social Enterprise of the Year, Employer of the Year, or Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Each category winner will receive £1000 to help grow their business and there will be an award of £3000 for overall Business of the Year.

Applications and guidance forms can be downloaded at http://www.joinedupforjobs.org.uk/employers/joined-up-for-business/ and any eligible micro businesses is welcome to self-nominate. The deadline for applications is 7th June 2016.

The winners will be selected at an award ceremony which will be held on 22nd September in the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Gogarburn conference centre.
