An independent company that proudly bears the founder’s name, from the 1930’s wine and spirit trade in Edinburgh, but which now makes up part of the quietly powerful independent Berkmann Wine Cellars Group of six UK-wide service depots. We can provide professional advice on wine, wine trends, wine lists, advice on wines for weddings, wine and food pairing, educative tastings, promotions, staff training, corporate gifts, boardroom lunches & dinners and much more.
We source direct from our world-class principals. These are famous quality names in their field, but producers who never transgress the notion of value. They are usually independents who are traditionalists yet with the drive to innovate. For example Antinori, Europe’s largest single owner of quality vineyard, Masi, who set the standard for Amarone, similarly Duboeuf for Beaujolais, Santa Rita for Chile and Norton, the most successful story from Argentina. Deutz Champagne and Delas in the Rhone are famous names in France, particularly in the restaurant sector, and particularly as forward thinking companies. In addition to these we continue to provide a carefully chosen selection of house wines, fine Domaine bottled Burgundies and properties from the South of France, and many more wines from around the world.
