Business Development

Edinburgh Business Development delivers wide-ranging support to new and existing businesses

About the North Edinburgh Business Incubator

The North Edinburgh Business Incubator (NEBI) was formed from a partnership between a number of citywide and local economic development organisations.

NEBI opened in October 2004 and has continually expanded the number of clients it works with, and the services provided.

NEBI aims to:

  • Encourage entrepreneurial activity and improve business start up within the North Edinburgh Social Inclusion Partnership area.
  • Maximise local business access to opportunities brought by the development of Edinburgh's Waterfront.
  • Up-skill the local business community to take advantage of new business opportunities.
  • Provide easier access to mainstream business support services.

Our supporters

We are able to deliver these aims through the hard work and support of our staff, steering group, funders and other supporters:

NEBI staff

Bob Giulianotti MBA, Business Manager and Adviser

Bob is an experienced Business Manager and has helped many people get their businesses up and running and given valuable advise to existing businesses on growth and development.

Majka is an experienced business adviser to private and voluntary sector businesses. Born and educated in Poland, she has over 17 years experience as an adviser in Scotland on issues ranging from project start-up and feasibility to growth strategies.  Majka also managed a transnational project which led to the establishment of the first Polish social firm.

Shirley Shields, Office Administrator

As an experienced administrator Shirley ensures the office runs smoothly and all visitors receive a warm friendly welcome.

Specialist advisers

There are times when our clients need help in a specialist area, be it legal advice, e-commerce and websites, accountancy, banking enquiries, premises, exporting, intellectual property rights and more. Through links to mainstream services we can arrange advice from specialists as required.

Steering Group

NEBI is managed by lead partner Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce. In addition, guidance is taken from a steering group that meets four times a year. The steering group is made up of representatives from the following organisations:

Funders and supporters

NEBI is funded through a range of public and private partners. Our thanks to all supporters of our activities:
