Would you benefit from a mentor?
As a growing business, you may have lots of ideas and plans for the future, but lack the skills and experience to put them into action. Maybe you would benefit from an objective view of your company, to help you realise what your goals should be and make plans to attain them. Perhaps you want to learn alongside an experienced business person, to develop new skills and expand your network of contacts.
The Business Mentoring programme will help you take a new look at your business, and provide you with valuable input to make more informed better decisions.
What is a mentor?
Mentors are successful business people with their own unique blend of business and life experience. They benefit from having 'been there and done it', and are willing to share their skills, knowledge and networks with others looking to develop their business.
A mentors role is to support, stimulate and challenge you - on a different light, and their knowledge and specialise expertise can improve you as a business person and drive your business forward.
They won't tell you what to do or sort out your problems for you but will act as a sounding board for ideas and plans, and can help you focus on identifying future strategies and opportunities for growth. Mentoring is designed to compliment you and any other form or learning and support you may be receiving.
The mentors also have the experience to refer you and your business on to other business services which can help to support your business.
How does it work?
We match our clients based in their need of experience, specialised expertise and personalities that suit each particular circumstance. This happens through one-to-one assessments and an initial meeting to make introductions and outline how to get the most out of the relationship.
We have a pool of experienced, successful business people from a wide variety of industry sectors, who are willing to 'invest forward' their time to enable other people and businesses in Scotland to benefit from their experience. Mentors will usually commit between half and one day a month, and on average the relationship lasts for nine months. Mentors give their time voluntarily, which is a reflection of their good natured reasons for participation and assisting for the right reasons.
How do you sign up?
